THROWPLACE.COM® PRIVACY POLICY

Throwplace.com® (“Throwplace®”) shares your concerns for maintaining the integrity and privacy of personal information collected on the Internet. Throwplace® is committed to protecting your privacy, and the following Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is intended to explain our information collection and dissemination practices in connection with the web site (the “Site”). Please review the entire Policy and feel free to contact us at help@throwplace.com if you have any questions.

1. Collection of Personal Information from Site Users. While visiting our Site, you may choose to provide business or personal information to us in the process of completing various on-line forms providing data about types of users, types of goods recycled, and other related activities of the Site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, EIN number for Non-profits, and range of annual revenues for Business registrations. By providing your personal information on-line, you consent to allow Throwplace® to use that information in accordance with this Policy. In general, applicants are required to respond to all of the questions on our application forms.

2. Children Given the nature of this Site, we do not anticipate that a child under the age of 13 will attempt to register with Throwplace.com® to transact business on this Site. Should a person under eighteen (18) years of age attempt to register with this Site, we ask that he or she have a parent or guardian join in the registration process to obtain parental consent and permission. Throwplace.com® will not knowingly contact children under age 13 for any purpose related to this Site.

When a User accesses any of the on-line services at the Site, Throwplace® places two cookies on the User’s web browser. A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your computer and allows Throwplace® to identify the User. The cookies placed by Throwplace® are used solely to identify the same user from web page to web page and to indicate that the User has been properly authenticated. Throwplace® uses web beacons to access Throwplace’s cookies inside and outside our Site.

3. Security. Throwplace® uses third-party vendors, such as PayPal, to process your on-line payments. Please see PayPal’s Privacy Policy at www.paypal.com for more information regarding its security and privacy practices. Please note that, while Throwplace® has endeavored to create a secure and reliable site for Users, the confidentiality of any communication transmitted to or from Throwplace® via the Site or e-mail cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, Throwplace® is not responsible for the security of information transmitted via the Internet. We limit access to personal information about you to employees we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to transact business on the Site or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal Regulations to protect personal information about you.

4. Use of Personal Information Collected. Throwplace® uses the personal information you provide in order to process your applications and requests for transactions. Additionally, Throwplace® may use aggregated personal information for research and statistical purposes. Throwplace® does NOTuse your personal information for marketing or promotional purposes. Throwplace does not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people, except to provide products or services you requested when we have your permission or under the following circumstances: (a) We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Throwplace® under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help Throwplace® communicate with you about opportunities at Throwplace® and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information. (b) We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (c) We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Throwplace®’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by laws. (d) We transfer information about you if Throwplace® is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, Throwplace® will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Throwplace® pledges not to sell, rent, offer, or otherwise disclose any personal information, such as names, e-mail addresses, postal addresses, telephone numbers, credit card information, and other personal information that User voluntarily provides to Throwplace®, to any organization or individual without such a legitimate interest (collectively “Third Parties”), except to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws or valid legal processes, or to protect the rights or property of Throwplace®. As noted above, Throwplace® uses third-party vendors to process your on-line payment transactions. In order to process these transactions, your payment information must be disclosed to these third parties.

5. Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information. You can edit your Throwplace® account information at any time by going to MY ACCOUNT, UPDATE CONTACT INFORMATION. When a Taker is selected by a Thrower to receive their donation, the Taker's name, email address, address and SHARED PHONE number will be visible to the Donor. This is shared so that the pick up or shipment of donated merchandise may be completed by Donor and Thrower. Throwplace.com provides the SHARED PHONE in case a user does not want to share the telephone number requested for use by Throwplace if we need to contact a Thrower or Taker. We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to Throwplace®’s services, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the status updates that are considered part of your Throwplace® account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them. You can deactivate your Throwplace® account by contacting help@throwplace.com. Throw lisings and Take requests will remain in our archived records after your account has been deleted.

6. Links to and from Throwplace. This Site may contain links to other Internet web sites. However, Throwplace does not endorse, and is not responsible for, the privacy practices or the content of these web sites.

7. Inquiries and Concerns. The foregoing Policy is effective as of January 1, 2001. Throwplace reserves the right to change this Policy at any time by notifying Users of the existence and location of the new or revised Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the Site after notice of a change shall constitute your acceptance of any such changes to this Policy.
